Primary Bee Blocks - December and January

I had a lot of fun making these blocks.  Picking out the fabric for wildchild was really fun, pink is my most liked color : )

Here I am practicing the log cabin for the January block. That one was really tricky it took me several tries before I got it down and I used up most of the green in my moms stash.

I hope you all enjoy your blocks and I cant wait to make more.

Life has been a little crazy around here..I thought as my son got older he would slow down... hahahahaha.  Nope seems they only have one speed, and if I am not in constant motion chasing after him I am in the kitchen feeding him...boy can they eat!!!

My daughter and I usually have to sneak in sewing/craft time when he is not awake or else it is a disaster.. but lately he's been interested as well so we've been stitching it up a little bit more these days.

Quilts From My Crayon Box is hosting a primary bee and I've signed my daughter up, I'm not sure who is more excited..either way we should be posting on that each month.

My Heart is Blue

I first saw this heart quilt at Blue Elephant Stitches and immediately fell in love with it.  I wanted to make it in a bigger size as a quilt but me, math and measurements..bleh, I figured it out but was a little too afraid to actually jump in and do it in fear that it would be off.. so I put it aside, until I saw A Crafty Fox did the same quilt but much larger (go check hers out..so pretty)  I decided it was doable and I started on it that same night and got it pieced within a week...HOWEVER..this thing is monstrous! I was not expecting it to be THAT big and I am not sure if it is the batting I have or if I am doing something wrong or if it is just tooo big for me, but it keeps bunching in the back and things keep going one direction while I am trying to go another.. and it's all pinned.  So I've put it aside again, and if anyone has any suggestion on quilting something so big on a home machine... please feel free to let me know.

To all my followers and anyone who may stop by..

I got this off of Facebook, and while half of what comes off of there may be questionable..I do recall this being said many many years ago..so just a friendly reminder to keep us all safe.

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ

A friend stopped at a pay-at-the-pump gas station to get gas. Once she filled her gas tank and after paying at the pump and starting to leave, the voice of the attendant inside came over the speaker.. He told her that something happened with her card and that she needed to come inside to pay. The lady was confused because the transaction showed complete and approved. She relayed that to him and was getting ready to leave but the attendant, once again, urged her to come in to pay or there'd be trouble. She proceeded to go inside and started arguing with the attendant about his threat. He told her to calm down and listen carefully:
He said that while she was pumping gas, a guy slipped into the back seat of her car on the other side and the attendant had already called the police.

She became frightened and looked out in time to see her car door open and the guy slip out. The report is that the new gang initiation thing is to bring back a woman and/or her car. One way they are doing this is crawling under women's cars while they're pumping gas or at grocery stores in the nighttime. The other way is slipping into unattended cars and kidnapping the women.

Please pass this on to other women, young and old alike. Be extra careful going to and from your car at night. If at all possible, don't go alone!
This is real!!

The message:

1. ALWAYS lock your car doors, even if you're gone for just a second!

2. Check underneath your car when approaching it for reentry, and check in the back before getting in.

3. Always be aware of your surroundings and of other individuals in your general vicinity, particularly at night!

Send this to everyone so your friends can take precaution.

AND GUYS...YOU TELL ANY WOMEN YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS Thanks,

Barbara Baker, Secretary Directorate of Training U.S. Army Military Police School

THIS IS TOO SERIOUS ... DO NOT DELETE PLEASE PASS IT ON!

Madrona Road

Oh boy has it been a while. I've gotten a few things done I'll have to put up here soon..however, this is my latest finish and it is for a friend who had her little baby boy two weeks ago.  This was my first time appliqueing something, so it looks a little off.

Meh.. I'm not feeling this one, so this little guy is probably going to be getting another one from me, and since I've decided I'm going to be his Aunty ... He'll get many more in the future as well.. I like spoiling children..hehe : )

3rd FINISHED quilt

This one I made for my sister.. she just wanted something very small that she could have on her lap while she was at work. If she was trying to be inconspicuous, I don't think she'll succeed, This is VERY bright and cheery!! Sure did beat away the grey clouds looming about that day.
